I was trying to capture both the tenderness and the tentativeness of spring in this quilt, as well as the uncertainties of changeable April weather.
This is a style of medallion quilt that I call a 'tilting quilt', because each concentric border is at a slant. This makes it visually compelling when hung on the wall or draped over a sofa.
A tilting quilt also has advantages as a child's bed covering, because the asymmetrical design can nicely disguise a poorly made bed.
